PanJazz UK Presents Calypso Steel Jazz

World renowned Steel Pan Jazz recording artist Andy Narell joined forces with calypso legend Relator to explore the role of Jazz in vintage calypso.  Together, they performed classic compositions by the late Grand Master Lord Kitchener and other great Calypso pioneers, supported by a group of world-class Latin-jazz cats such as Jonathan Jurion and Thierry Fanfant from the French West Indies.

Narell and Relator’s special guest at this London date was Trinidadian trumpeter Etienne Charles.  This was Caribbean Jazz at its finest!

It was PanJazz UK Presents Calypso Steel Jazz at Hackney Empire, 291 Mare Street, London, England, Sunday, November 08, 2009 from 18:30 GMT.
