Rellon Brown (trumpet), leader of Dominant Seventh Calypso Jazz Band says of his band’s performance at Panyard Sensations on September 28, 2008:

Panyard Sensations was a success judging from the more than decent turn out. The audience included several “Yachties”, island hopping foreigners and high ups in the Pan fraternity like Patrick Arnold, president of Pan Trinbago and Pan pioneer, Tony Williams.

Our performance was good. I liked the tempos that were taken for our selections, which were “Afro Blue,” “Daahoud” and two originals, a Bossa Nova in “Musing” and an up-tempo Calypso Jazz, “New Beginnings.”
The miking was pretty harsh on my trumpet playing though and we had no stage monitors. That meant listening to the house system. But this held no terrors as we were able to achieve a tight sound from the first note of “Afro Blue.”
The event was not strictly Jazz as it included Robert Monroe and Friends, a trio of electric bass, acoustic guitar and cuatro as the lead instrument, Cindy Crawford, who sang R and B with tracks, The Chinese Pan Ensemble who played Calypso and Chinese music and a dance troupe, in addition to the host band, Humming Bird Pan Groove.
I played three selections with them, “Forever in Love,” “Satin Doll” and “Wave,” which was like a big band experience, the trumpet floating above the pan harmonies.
On Saturday 8th November, Dominant Seventh will host “Jazz Unplugged” an intimate event on the grounds of the Naparima Girls’ High School from 8 pm. Tickets are $100.00 TT
