TRINIDAD & TOBAGO
At 02:00 pm Eastern (08:00 pm in Sweden), May 21st, at Marta’s Cafe, Stadsbiblioteket, Lund, Trinidadian Steel Pan master Rudy Smith made a rare Swedish appearance along with baritone saxophonist Ed Epstein and a superb rhythm section: Elias Källvik, guitar; Johnny Åman, bass; P-A Tollbom, drums.
Smith is an internationally acclaimed steel pan virtuoso, and one of the few who have adapted the native instrument of Trinidad and Tobago to the challenges of modern jazz.
